Came here for the first time & it was excellent. I got the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top & a side of the voodoo BBQ chips. Everything was very tasty. I really liked the original BBQ sauce but wasn't crazy about the other two. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely be back!

Yay! It's hard to find BBQ let alone GOOD BBQ in the South Florida area. So much to my surprise there's one in the heart of Pembroke Pines. And New Orleans style nonetheless. As a recommendation of fellow elite Leanna J., I decided to come here with my sister who is a big BBQ fan. The restaurant itself isn't particularly large but there are plenty of seats, so we walked up to the counter and I decided to order whatever the cashier recommended. I got the pulled pork sandwich with the side of the corn pudding. Not bad for a $9.00 price tag. We sat down and the food came out within minutes. The pork was tender, juicy & not to mention that the sauces were delicious. My sister got the same thing and she shared my same sentiments. The corn pudding was outrageous BTW. It was sweet much to my surprise. We left full & satisfied. The service was great, the manager made it a point to ask us how we liked the food and even walked us out of the establishment. I will without a doubt return to VooDoo BBQ and make it a point to bring the whole fam! Definitely worth checking out!

This is a fairly new location, me in the mood for BBQ decided to give it a try. I must say I was impressed. It by far exceeded my expectations. To start with when you walk in you notice the restaurant is very clean. The decor also stands out. There are a few TV's and really cool menu boards. I ordered the BBQ Pork sandwich with mac n cheese. The pork was nicely flavored, moist and plenty of it. Sauce is on the side you pick the type you like. The mac n cheese I assume is homemade and was rely good. It was thick and the noodles were perfectly cooked. II often see mac n cheese a little crunchy from some other BBQ spots, this was the not the case with Voodoo. My wife had the brisket. Same goes for the brisket as my pork, it was moist and juicy, I was afraid it being the end of the day we would get a dried up piece, so I was thrilled at the food quality.

In this area there aren't many choices for BBQ so Voodoo is a welcome addition. My expectations were low and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. The ribs weren't the absolute best that I've ever had but they did satisfy my rib craving. They were fall-off-the-bone baby backs cooked just right. The baked beans were very good but the stand out side was the sweet potato soufflé. It was phenomenal. The only problem is that it has the capacity to satisfy your sweet tooth, causing you to skip the equally good white chocolate bread pudding. The place is very clean and service was exceptional. It is a fast casual concept so you would think that contact with the staff would be minimal, but not here. The girl who took our order was friendly; she brought us refills; she asked if we wanted the warm dessert at time of order or after our meal; and she remembered to bring the dessert after the meal without having to be promoted. Oh yeah, and the prices are reasonable.

The food is tasty but very underwhelming for the price. The decor is nice all Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street themed down to the music. They have TVS and the bathrooms are pretty clean. It's definitely not the worst, but given the other choices in the area, I probably won't come back unless the other places have too long a wait.

I'm beyond impressed with their food and service! Being from Texas it's hard for me to find good BBQ. Their potato salad is the BEST I've ever had! We go every Sunday since kids eat free. Also, there is one specific employee at the counter that I have to rave about! She is super attentive and so kind to our two boys. This has become a family favorite!

First time trying his place. We were given a very friendly welcome by a young lady named Ebony. She filled us in on the daily special. We decided on a pulled chicken sandwhich and a burger. She brought our food the table and then described all the sauce options on the table. Portions weren't big but satisfying. The sweet potato sufflee we got as one of our sides was incredible. Ebony came back to check on us shortly after. She definitely took pride in her job which made our first experience that much more delightful. She could of just sat behind the counter, but instead she went the extra mile by making sure we were satisfied. The 5 stars are for her!

My bf loves bbq and ever since he introduced me to the world of REAL bbq, VooDoo BBQ just doesn't cut it. I mean, I understand that VooDoo is a chain and that I shouldn't have expected too much, but everything was just disappointing. I wanted to order the bbq platter with the cajun half chicken and I was told that they were out and didn't make any yet...at 11:45 AM. The lady behind the counter was very helpful so I can't blame her. So instead I decided to go with the smoked chicken breast with two sides (I chose the mac & cheese and sweet potato soufflé). When I got my food, the portions were a lot smaller than I was expecting with maybe about five or six small slivers of chicken. I took one bite and it was so dry and bland that I tried to soak it in some of the bbq sauces offered on the table. The sauces themselves were disappointing - three bottles labeled original, tangy, and spicy. The tangy and spicy tasted identical with no hint of spice and the original was just decent. To be fair, the mac & cheese was good and the sweet potato soufflé was excellent. I was hungry and I don't like wasting food (or money) so I finished everything on my platter except the cornbread that came with it. My meal came out to be about $14 for the platter plus a drink, which I find a bit overpriced for what I got. I don't go into these fast-food places expecting a five-star meal, but there are MANY other options in the area that could have provided a more satisfying lunch.

I had always seen this place while exiting the mall and stopping by the shopping center where several restaurants are located. I was hesitant to stop by and try it out most of the prior times so I went with some of the other choices, I saw a buddy of mine post a picture of something he ate here on Instagram and I told myself today was the day!!! I am happy it was, I walked in and smelled the BBQ I knew something was brewing in there, you get that chill and you talk to your self " man it smells good " Well so was what I ate, I had the pulled BBQ chicken with fries and a side order of onion rings and mac and cheese, my girl also had a sandwich and fries. The fries you can tell where thick cut had good size and meat on it if you know what I mean "not a string" they had good flavor and oil was fresh, needed a bit of salt but other than that they were good. I would say the mac & cheese was average nothing to brag about but still it was good. The best part about my experience was the sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich had great flavor smoky barbecue chicken with jalapenos cheese tomatoes and sautéed onions. The batter on the onion rings was just simply delightful very good flavor nice and hot and crunchy. The service was excellent being my first time to the restaurant the person taking my order was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I would definitely come here again I saw some other things on the menu like the pulled pork that really sparked my curiosity I would like to try it.

I used to love this place, I would dream about the food and the different sauces they have. In went recently and it was such a disappointment, the food isn't as good as it used to be. I was so sad my favorite place to grab some lunch and they ruined it. They changed the menu and the atmosphere of the place.

Ordered food to go. And the food hit the spot. I had Cajun chicken, ribs, BBQ jambalaya rice and for desert white chocolate bread pudding. The food here is amazing will eat here again.

I really enjoyed my first experience here. I had the pulled pork plate with the fries and mac and cheese. Everything was so delicious. The portions weren't huge but they were filling. Also their cornbread is out of this world! All of the sauces were excellent as well. Will definitely be back.

Voodoo BBQ & Grill. I usually don't do anything that refers to itself as voodoo of any kind. But I was really feeling for BBQ. After all its a MLK ritual for my family and I. Well.... Hmmm, how do I put this?? Ok... what I ordered; baby back ribs, rattlesnake beans and fries was okkkk, not great!! So upset because I really wanted BBQ. I'm not in my feelings but surely you can understand my pain. The ribs taste like they were bath in fresh crushed black pepper. I was really hoping for a hickory, smokey honey, brown sugar flavored ribs. I will give Voodoo another try and consider ordering some of the suggestions they regulars mentioned I. e.; brisket, sausage, sweet potato, jambalaya, red beans and rice. Voodoo is worth a 2nd shot as there is really a lot of potential here. The decor of the place is like a Louisiana feel to it. It clean and open. They have outside eating and ample seating inside.

I lived in New Orleans for almost a year and never went there. But I living in NOLA, BBQ at a chain just didn't seem worthy but apparently it does when I am in Florida. I didn't have high hopes but I really wanted BBQ so I stopped by to pick up some food. I went all out and had their signature Pulled Pork Platter with Corn Pudding, Macaroni and Cheese and Toast on the side. It wasn't the greatest even but it definitely satisfied my craving. Then I also had Baby Back Ribs (I said I went all out) and they were equally as satisfying. It didn't stop at that, I also had the Carnival Sandwich (not really, my friend did) and it was not a fan favorite, but when you do not like that sort of thing, what are you going to expect. The White Chocolate Bread Pudding could have definitely been missed.

Okay, this place is as close to fast food BBQ as you can get so sign me up! I've been here three times. We have a collection of their take home cups (pretty cool) and for myself and two kids I spend around $20 which really isn't too bad in comparison to some of the other local eats. The kid's meals also come with an icecream bar - nice touch. They've won my kids over. Ultimately, it is another option when looking for a quick bite. Not that I needed one, but I'm a BBQ and Caribbean food fan so I'll take it. The atmosphere is fun, upbeat music, nice employees and there are a bunch of TVs often displaying sports channels. I would give 5 stars but meat does tend to be a bit on the dry side.

This place actually turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I saw my reliable yelp friend bookmark VooDoo BBQ the other night on yelp. Being it was around the corner from my house, I decided to bookmark it, to try for lunch the next day.Typically I do not eat at places or food with the word "Voodoo" in it, but being the BBQ meglomaniac I am, I made an exception this time. This is a brand new colorful place that just opened, it appears to be a franchised BBQ place based on New Orleans style BBQ. They actually smoke most of thier meats, but not all of them. The inside is squeaky clean and they have decent sized outfoor eating arrangments. The minute I walked in I was greeted by an attractive long haired girl, it appears all or the majority of the people who work here are high spirited friendly people. The menu is decent sized, it took me while to decide what I wanted, being there were so many different menu choices. But the Yelp check-in special said you had to get a platter to redeem for the free desert. So I ordered a 1/4 smoked sliced chicken breast platter with a lemonade, mac & cheese and corn pudding. For the free Yelp Check-in desert, I choose the white chocolate bread pudding bit.ly/VNlcct . After you order they inform you that they bring the food to your table and give you this metal self standing pole with a numbered flag. So I chose to dine at one of the many outdoor comfortable tables with sun blocking umbrellas. Let me tell you, for commercialized BBQ this stuff is not bad at all. I cannot compare commercialized BBQ to wood smoked BBQ pits or Barrels, this BBQ is not even remotely in its class, but it makes the grade for commercialized BBQ. Located on all of the tables were three different bottled BBQ sauces to choose from Mojo sauce, Cane vinegar and Mango crystal bit.ly/VNmMeD . I used the Mango crystal on the sliced breasts, it is hot and peppery, but went very well with the smoked chicken breasts, it was quite tasty. I have never had corn pudding before, but my god this stuff was moist and delicious, it melted in your mouth. The mac & cheese was tasty and cheesy, nothing special but palatable. The desert of the white chocolate bread pudding was divine, it was toe curling.I refused to eat all of it there so I took the rest home to eat later. The bread pudding tasted like they baked it on premises, it was very fresh and moist with a spicy smell. The service in this place shocked me, the girl who had initially brought out my order actually came outside where I was sitting and asked how was my food and if I wanted a refill for my lemonade. I have never received this kind of excellent attentive service in any fast food oriented restaurant. The one negative is the 1/4 chicken portion, it was just a few slices, very conservative. They definitely need to increase the amount of chicken in the 1/4 meal. I am definitely going to return. * RATING - Service 4 STARS - 1/4 Chicken - 2 1/2 STARS( would be 3 stars with larger portions) - corn pudding - 4 STARS - white chocolate bread puddingt - 5 STARS

I stand by every last word in my previous 5-star review, but had to update based on the deliciousness of the bread pudding. It is nothing short of perfection and they give you a huge slice that's big enough for two people to share. The customer service, as usual, was on point. Voodoo definitely knows how to get customers to leave satisfied. Their menu options are unique, appetizing, and absolutely delicious.

I haven't tried anything here that I haven't liked. The brisket is my favourite but the pulled pork is good too. My husband loves the chicken. The corn pudding, Mac n cheese and sweet potato soufle are all great sidesand the fries are good too. Prices are a little higher than I'd like but not too bad. We've done takeout and foods always ready quickly. We've also eaten in and the restaurants always clean and well staffed with friendly employees. It's a good go-to local spot!

This is one of those places where you'll look at the menu and ponder on what you're going to get for hours because the options are great, specially the sides. I had the Crescent City burgah (that's not me being illiterate) with a side of sweet potato soufflé and a half sweet-unsweet tea. I added some of their signature tangy sauce to my burger and it complemented the meat really well. The soufflé...OMG that yummy, crunchy, delicious soufflé. I'm guessing it's some type of brown sugar topping baked on top of the sweet potato, it adds texture to every bite.

  • Rey F.

Standard BBQ Fair for South Florida I tried the pulled pork, it was a bit dry and bland but I added one of the sauces and it was tolerable. I had the mashed corn, it was great! I had the hot Sweet Mash, it was bland and hot as all get out, I mean it was as if someone shoved a glowing coal in my mouth. I ordered the white chocolate bread pudding that I heard so much about. It was bland. It had great texture, the right amount of sweetness (not too sweet), but it was bland. If you are dying for BBQ and need a lil fix, come here but if you want lip smacking goodness, forget it. There are only five places in Broward and Miami Dade total that come close to that quality.

Keep in mind this is technically a fast food place. There isn't any table service other than bringing you the food on disposable plates with disposable silverware. PRICES: I ordered "the graveyard." Choice of two meats. It was $8 just for the meats. If you wanted 2 sides its an additional $3. Drink is extra. PORTIONS: Although I'm sure they are considered "average" they were way to small for the price. If you have a hearty appetite it may not be enough. I would have felt comfortable paying $8 for the whole plate. FOOD: It was good. Not the best BBQ I've had but good. I had the pork and the sausage. Both were really good. Loved the sausage. The sweet potato soufflé was my favorite. The corn casserole was good too. PLACE: the restaurant is decorated nicely. They play N'awlins style music which I love. Unfortunately, we went on a Saturday night around 9pm and it was empty. Bad sign. We were the only ones there. A couple tables filled up afterwards. The restaurant right next door was packed! We should have gone there instead. I had to do a little convincing to come here because I was the only one who wanted to eat here. We went last night and today I keep hearing bitching about how for $12 they can get double the food and probably more delicious stuff and you know what...they are right! I will not be coming back anytime soon. I don't live nearby so it's not worth the drive. The food was good but I don't like small portions.

If this is bar-b-que I'm not sure what I've been eating all this time. Horrible! I would never come back here. The chicken was so small, burnt and dry! Then they gave us cold BBQ sauce at the table in a squeeze bottle and that was supposed to make our chicken BBQ chicken. I got my money back. Terrible!

A month ago this place would've gotten four stars. I actually enjoyed the good very much but I just came here and they have changed their menu and not for the better. Their sides are in a new dish that honestly gives you less and not their sandwiches are just bread and meat. They don't toss it in the BBQ sauce anymore, they expect you to do that. The toppings such as the cole slaw you may have enjoyed, now $1.99 each. They lost a customer today due to their business model. It's a shame cause their food is actually good.

This is my boyfriend favorite quick food spot. He loves the red beans and rice with sausage. Everything we have had here is great! Prices are reasonable and they sell beer. The employees are super nice and friendly. They are very attentive to us newbies asking if we have been in before and are familiar with the sauces. They have amazing BBQ sauce and hot sauce. We will be back for sure! We highly recommend to anyone who likes flavorful food.

I was not impressed with the quality of the food in this restaurant. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the pork was kinda dry. It's definitely a fast food version of New Orleans food. I also had the corn bread and it was just meh. Their service is not all their great either. Though the lady behind the counter was informative, but she wasn't so friendly. My taste bud experience with VooDoo BBQ was not an exciting one. This is not a restaurant I would come back again for New Orleans food.

My family arrived at this restaurant around 7 pm on a Tuesday evening and the service was good but the food was terrible. I ordered the chicken (dark) and beef brisket. The food was extremely dry!! I would assume it had been sitting under a heating lamp all day and the meat was room temperature. The sides were o.k. except for the Mac n cheese. It was very bland. For a family of three including a child we spent 45 dollars and the food wasn't worth it at all. We will never return again. Also the portions are very small. This isn't the place for you if you are extremely hungry or appreciate quality food.

Decided to try this place today and got a platter with two sides; it came out to about $12 and that's without a drink! I didn't completely mind because I wanted to try something new and I expected plenty of food for that price. Surprisingly, the portion size was mediocre and frankly disappointing. I had higher hopes for this place! For what I got, I would've paid a maximum of about $8.

It is always nice to see a new BBQ place open up around the area. I decided to get take out and see how this matches up to all the other ones. The menu is huge and they have something for everyone on it. I was pretty disappointed when I called 4 times and no one picked up the phone for my take-out order. Not that big of a deal but it would have made my waiting time a little less. When I got there I noticed it was very busy and the smell was Amazing. I decided to go with the spicy chicken sandwich and chili (I know, I know, not BBQ food). And i got them to throw in every BBQ sauce they have for sampling! The sandwich was a decent portion with a little kick to it. The chili was very tasty and went great with the green onions and cheese. All the BBQ sauces I tried were interesting and flavorful. I will definitely come back here to try some BBQ meats and maybe dine in.

Well, we tried this place, and I don't think I will ever come back. The place was clean, the baby back ribs was quite well done. However, it costs 50% more than baby back ribs at Chili's. And it's not better than Chili's. Also, Chili's is a full service restaurant and the Voodoo place is not. So, that's why I don't plan to come back. Another gripe. I am not into fries, I usually get a baked potato or mashed potato. Neither is available here.

For a quick service BBQ place, VooDoo is pretty darn good. Pleasant service, good food, reasonable prices. I ordered the pulled pork on a french hoagie with corn bread pudding and sweet potato souffle (both delightful sides!) The only thing truly lacking here was the sauces - nothing was unique, and I really didn't care for any of them.

The corn souflee is amazing, pork/brisket are good but the sauces need more work. Bread pudding was very dry and lacking on this visit.

The previous reviews must of been written by owners and managers. Let me start off by saying I was sooo excited to try this place. I drove all the way from Kendall to eat here. First when I walked in I was disappointed to see the set up. Its very "fast food". You walk up to a cashier order, they give you a number and you sit at a tiny table. They have about four Booths which with our luck they were all taken. The cashier was super friendly and sweet and me and my husband just wanted to try everything so we ordered a shrimp po boy sandwich, St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, and on the website they advertised this bread pudding I was dying to try (something different) but the cashier kept hinting on about the brownie so my husband said well try both! Shrimp po boy was okay .. Probably the best part of my whole meal we split it as an appetizer and I just wished it was a little more creative or had more sauce. My St. Louis ribs were un edible. The amount of dry rub on them was so horrible. Seriously it blows my mind how any one can say they are so good. The pulled pork was dry. But ok. The Mac and cheese was good I liked that and the corn pudding those two things were very good. The bread pudding was not good at all it was no wonder the waiter kept hinting for the brownie better. The brownie was good but nothing to die for it was a typical brownie with a scoop of vanilla Ice cream. The sauces were nothing out of this world. Overall I was disappointed and would probably not go back again. If you do go I recommend the shrimp po boy and the Mac and cheese and corn pudding those were supper good! The service was great the staff is EXTREMLY friendly which is nice and they even offer to refill your drink from your table.

Tried Voodoo today...we hit the place right in the lunch rush...but the line moved quickly and the service was friendly. The team working the floor made sure the tables were cleared/cleaned timely so the people staying to eat would have a place to sit. I had the pulled pork. It wasn't stringy or dry...it was moist and chunky and yummy. I would have liked a different selection of sauces as I am a fan of either a mustard base or a sweeter less spicy sauce. The fries were yummy and my husband's Mac n cheese was also good. I found the people working the floor very attentive to the customers proving refills and Togo boxes. I always check out the kids's menu and they had a nice selection. Looking forward to trying them again. Update: visited again today...our daughter loved the Mac n cheese...the girls even gave her some beads, which she was excited about. Service was great! They truly stay on top of taking care of you. I tried the smoked turkey (YUM!) and the corn pudding (YUM). Still wish they had a less spicy sauce or a sweet sauce.

My husband and I love this place. We live about a block away and every time we drive passed it we say "we are having Voodoo BBQ tonight for dinner." I can' t understand how anyone would have anything bad to say about this restaurant! The service is great, they keep the restaurant very clean, but the important part- the food is AMAZING! BBQ ribs are juicy.. I love their different BBQ sauces. The Jerk Chicken is very tasty, the cheese fries are probably one of the best I have had!

Let me first say that I'm not a huge fan of fast food chains. The food is typically low-end, cheap, and salty. Blech! Moreover, the food is rarely fresh. Let me secondly say that fast food restaurants do not get five stars. Never, ever. Until now. We came in on Labor Day because VooDoo was close to us and we have been curious. We walked through the door and the aroma was just delicious. We grabbed a menu, a customer asked us if this was our first time, we said, "Yes," and she told us to get the brisket. As a lover of brisket, that made the choice easy. My wife decided to do the same. We chose different sides. The brisket was tender, juicy and amazing. The barbecue sauce (I went with traditional, they have a mango and a vinegar as well) was a tad spicey and filled my mouth with flavors that hung on for over an hour. I had their rattlesnake beans which were tasty and fresh. My wife had the Cole slaw which she said did not swim in mayonnaise. We both had fries. The service was fast. The manager came over to our table and asked how we liked our meal, just like you'd find in a non-fast food joint. We have already told several friends about VooDoo and it has only been a few hours. We will definitely be back! Come here, you will be impressed.

I really wanted to like VooDoo BBQ. In theory it was built to be liked. It's in a very nice plaza, ample parking, fun & festive N'awlins decor, semi-fast food, & decent prices. What's not to like??? Unfortunately, this BBQ left a lot to be desired. When I went in, I decided on the Zydeco trio platter. The young lady at the register was extremely helpful. They allowed me to sample some of their sides before I made my final decision. After everything, I decided on the brisket, the chicken, & the pulled pork with the Mac & cheese and the fresh steamed veggies. I also tried their sweet potato soufflé & the corn pudding. Overall, the brisket was the most flavorful! It was juicy & very tasty! They also have these sauces on the tables. The mojo sauce was the best one, IMO. I could put in on everything lol the pulled pork came in second on the taste factor. It wasn't as juicy as the brisket but it was still pretty tasty. The "BBQ" chicken was the absolute worst. It was dry, lacked flavor & was the furthest thing from BBQ chicken I've ever had. Also, stick with the fountain or bottled drinks & forego the iced tea. Don't say I didn't warn you. Would I go back? Probably but not on my own insistence. This would be if a friend wanted to go & we were in the area. IMO, Giraffa's next door is 1000 times better & much healthier options. It's not horrible but it's not great either.

I had the option of the Voodoo BBQ, Five Guys or Girafa's. All serve burgers so I decided to try Voodoo BBQ since it was one that I had never been to. Service was great. Employees were knowledgeable and able to find just the taste I wanted. I tried the chicken wings and the meat was literally falling off the bones. I haven't tasted chicken off the bones like that in ages!! My friend tried a hamburger with fries and then she decided to go for the desert recommended by some customers close by and it was awesome!! wish I could remember the name, I just remember it was their signature desert and it comes hot w/ melted stuff on top. Wish I had one now, LOL.

This place is quickly climbing up my fast food leader board. Unfortunately, it's in the same Plaza as gyroville! I love the carnival platter and the colossal onion rings. The best onion rings I've ever had. Terrific quality BBQ at a bargain price.

My husband and I just moved to Pembroke Pines. So as new residents we are trying everything out! Wondering around we saw this restaurant and said ehh let's try it! Well let me just say we been back 3 times! My husband sticks to the chicken tenders cause he doesn't experiment. I tried it from his plate and it taste so fresh! Not greasy or stale! They also serve you this dipping sauce for the chicken that's phenomenal!! I've had the grilled chicken breast with mash potato and sweet potato! Amazing!! I've also had they're baby back ribs! They are good, but a little tooo seasoned for my taste buds. Also a little to much on the burnt side. Had the macaroni and cheese! Delicious!! And the baked beans! Awesome!! Love how they give you a souvenir cup with your drink! Those that say that it's to pricey, are ridiculous! You pay what you get. The food is good, service is good, ambiance is great, and you can sit their for hours on your laptop with free wifi without a hassle! My opinion stop being cheap, or go to McD! Portions? Portions are perfect! Not to much, not to little. Those that complain about that, maybe your stomach is stretched out and you over eat! Ever think about that?!

I don't know why this place doesn't have better reviews. I liked it. It's not a fancy sit down type of place but it doesn't market itself that way. The decor is New Orleans, Cajun and happy. The staff is super friendly and the owner is on point with his customers. I had a salad with BBQ chicken was delicious. I also tried the brisket and although I am not a fan of brisket this one was awesome. The choice of sauces was fun and delish. We also received free samples of banana bread which was yummy. If you are hungry on a Monday night and you want something quick, cheap and yummy, this is the place to go.

I'll say this about VooDoo BBQ, they try very hard to please. From the owners on down, the entire staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. And it's been the same on each of my three recent visits. The restaurant is squeaky clean, the piped in New Orleans jazz sets the tone and the bustling dining area makes for a fun atmosphere. Although the Crystal Mango sauce is intriguing, I didn't love any of the three BBQ sauces that are set out on the table. Maybe one of them will be to your liking. However, the sauce that's served with the Jerk Chicken is excellent, sweet, with a kick... so you may be able to get some of that with your BBQ if you ask for it. And the blackberry balsamic dressing that I had on my salad was unique and delicious. As for the BBQ itself, it's decent for quick service, but it won't take the place of some other nearby traditional BBQ joints. And, as previous Yelpers have pointed out, the sides, while quite tasty, tend to be less than generous portions. The corn pudding and sweet potato souffle are my current favorites. Haven't tried the desserts yet but there's always next time. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood and in need of a quick BBQ fix. You'll likely leave with a smile on your face.

September 1, 2013: I was in the mood for BBQ and I stumbled upon this chain. After glancing at the menu at home, my spouse and I decided on the zydeco trio platter (pulled pork, brisket, carnival with fries and sweet potato soufflé). We went to the restaurant and ordered. The wait was not too bad, there were only 3 people in front of us. Why three stars? For $15, the portion size was SO small!!! I imagined the trio being a decent serving of each meat, but it was like 1oz of each. The pulled pork was a tad dry, the carnival was a bit spicy and salty and the brisket wasn't seasoned enough. I imagine by themselves they would taste horrible, but since I had all three, they balanced each other out. I read reviews and people said the sweet potato soufflé was the best thing on the menu and I have to agree. I had trepidation going in because if a BBQ place best item is a side dish, there's a problem, but overall it was a decent experience.

First time having voodoo BBQ, we got take out. Was very pleased! We got the BBQ shrimp, buffalo chicken tenders, and the graveyard double (sausage and pulled pork) with two sides... Corn pudding, soooooooo yummy!!!!!! And potato salad! We all loved it very much! Will definitely be back for me!

My husband and I live in tn and are here for a couple months so we're trying out different places to eat. We were not disappointed! We each got the pulled pork sandwiches with different sides; he got French fries I got mac n cheese. We both loved it and will be back!

Decided to try this place with co-workers. Agreeing with reviewer Natasha V. below, I wholeheartedly agree that the place is very clean, staff is extremely friendly and courteous, but the food is just ok. I decided to try the pulled pork sandwich and the meat was semi-dry and the mac and cheese was good, but I've had better. I also ordered the brownie (sans ice cream, which is an option for an extra charge) and it was just subpar. It seemed a little undercooked. All in all, I might give the place a second try, as my co-worker did like his shrimp po boy. But I'm not rushing back anytime soon.

First, this place is a small chain. That being said, i think the food is awesome for what it is. The wings are great, and I highly recommend them Jerk-style. Pulled pork was fantastic, as was the brisket. The only thing I tasted that fell a little short would be the cole slaw, but that's okay. I was only too happy to ignore that and eat everything else instead! There aren't many good bbq places in the area, so I was tickled to find out this place was damn decent! Shorty's is okay, but I don't think their pork is as good as Voodoo...I'm a big bbq fan, with lots of family up in Georgia, so maybe I'm a little picky. At the very least, you have to give this place a try...it's totally worth it.

Friendly staff (Maybe a little too friendly if thats even possible), Someone came up to my table no less than ten times during my meal and asked me the same question, everything ok? would you like a refill? I atribute this to the grand opening. Great atmosphere though and most importantly really good and fast BBQ! I had the Carnival platter with greens and Mac and cheese, it was really good.

I am from Texas and I know a little about BBQ. I was in south Florida for business and heard about a new BBQ joint. I was impressed with how nice the staff was, they seemed to like they worked there. (This is really hard to find nowadays.) The food was great - the sauce is not traditional TX but a mix of flavors that was authentic Cajun and represented southern food. For southern FL this place was sorely needed.

Food's good but the service is still sketchy. They did just open. There was a long line for ordering because they were only two registers open. Things are a bit pricey. My shrimp poboy was pretty good. The French bread was pretty good. Nice option of sides.I'm sure things will get better with time. I will be coming back.

I was smart enough to go after the lunch rush which I always do. I was greeted promptly and everyone was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the pork po boy w/ fries and the corn pudding(DELICIOUS). I also took their bread pudding dessert home which was very good. The only complain I have is the plain bun used for the pork sandwich. They should have been more creative with the choice of bread.

My wife and I went for lunch and were very pleased with the pulled pork and sauce options. Pricing was fair. Ordered macaroni but it had no flavor. Other then that, we really enjoyed the platter options and would go back anytime were craving BBQ!

Went here for the first time today. While trying to decide what I wanted to eat, and what to order for my 9 year old the cashier, Stephani #201, started getting a little snippy with me. Mind you, there was no line behind us or any reason to be in a rush. I ordered a large pulled pork sandwich to split with my boy and was asked if I wanted the platter. Not having ever been here before I figured a platter meant sides were included with the sandwich. I completed the order and before her even ringing it up I verified whether or not the platter came with a bun or not. The reply I got was-" You ordered the platter, not the sandwich. I told you what the platter comes with". A simple clarification would have sufficed. It was almost comical for a second because such a minor infraction on my part elicited such an inappropriate amount of attitude. No one likes to be treated in a condescending manner- especially for something as little as that. You press void, ensure the customer is getting what he or she wants, push the other button on the register and press on with a smile. You never make the customer wrong and you NEVER become confrontational. She proceeded to discuss the incident behind the counter with other employees, glare at me once or twice as I ate lunch with my family and made sure to launch a sarcastic "Have a wonderful day!" across the entire length of the place as I walked out the door. I mentioned the incident to the regional manager who was present and he apologized. I doubt he did much else about it after I left. The food was pretty good. A little dry though. That was my first visit to Voodoo. Weird. I haven't been treated like that at a restaurant in a while. There are too many other places to eat to have to deal with such a lack of courtesy and unprofessionalism. I probably won't be back. You're a real class act Stephani! Don't quit your day job though!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First thing they got our order wrong. Two orders and the guy cashed it up wrong....didn't notice until the food came. Sent it back. When our bbq chicken came it was horrible looking. It was white...no grill marks, no BBQ sauce to be seen anywhere on the chicken. I tasted it to see what it tasted like... Completely tasteless. If this is what New Orleans Louisiana style food tastes like count me into those who will never taste it again. Horrible!!! They were apologetic and did offer me something else but at that point was so turned off I just asked for my money back. If you like real BBQ chicken go somewhere else cause this place is not BBQ!!!

After a few visits I thought I'd give an update. I wasn't a fan of the Carnival. So far the pork seems to be the best thing on the menu for me. I haven't tried a burger or anything yet. I'm not a fan of their sandwich buns - just plain old hamburger buns. I think the food is slightly overpriced for fast-food BBQ. The portions are not very large on top of that, especially the small sandwich and the sides. Sometimes it seems like I only have about 10 fries on my plate and I'm paying somewhere near $3 for that. Overall this place is definitely worth a try and I'm happy to have a new BBQ joint near me, but I tend to find myself going for the better value at other healthier fast-casual settings nearby. I'd like to see the prices here come down some or better values with the smaller sized sandwich meals.

Stay away from this trash. I'm a hardcore foodie, and you can add this place to the Pembroke Pines pile of restaurants with mediocre service, bad food, and no accountability. I still wonder how South Florida (being the most dependent Service Industry area in the US next to Vegas) can survive on having such bad food. Too many chains, too many LOGO's, and plain ol' bad food. I was excited to try this place and got a dry, plain flavored ribs... Pros: 1.Clean (shame if it wasn't since the place is brand new) 2.Location (conveniently located in the heart of PP) Cons: 1.Food 2.Fast Food Service (Rushed) 3.Fast Food Setting (Lit Up like a Taco Bell) 4.Fast Food Taste (And I dare say some fast food joints can whip up a better BBQ) 5.SMALL PORTIONS, and I MEAN SMALL Save your $$, drive a little bit north or south and dig in to real BBQ. Because good BBQ is really the only way to have it. ADVICE: -Dont dance with bad BBQ.

Ordered a typical pulled pork sandwich thinking they cant mess it up. For being a BBQ place it was a let down. The pork was dry and my girlfriend ordered a chicken breast which came out salty.

Ordered the carnival, which is a combo of all of their bbq meats. I did not care for it. Maybe if eaten separately I would have liked it. But maybe not. Mac & cheese mediocre and served luke warm. Rattlesnake beans, with a name like that I'm thinking these are going to be great. In reality if you have ever had Bush's baked beans it is pretty much the equivalent. Wife had shrimp po boy which had a few shrimp but was mostly all bread. Son's burger dried out. Won't ever be back. Would much rather have Dickey's bbq. Now that is the real deal!

Initially went to the give a Brazilian location next door a try, however, we saw that a VooDoo BBQ was opening in the Miami area. So we decided to give it a try. The cashier/waitress that greeted us was great. We explained to her that we had never been there before and she patiently explained the menu to us. The menu was a bit intimidating because of the variety, however, that can be viewed as a good thing. I wish they had some honey BBQ sauce but was not really needed. The cost to portion size was great. The food tasted great. I would definitely try it again.

A decent little place for BBQ and they are open until 10PM during the week which is a plus for me.. I had the BBQ 1/2 chicken with 2 sides, Rattlesnake Beans and Mac N Cheese.. The chicken was good but I prefer BBQ sauce on it but there was 3 different sauce on the tables... The quality was very good.. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, although, there still seems to be some minor kinks as with any new restaurant..Slightly pricy, definitely I could see coming here once a week or every other week..

Very disorganized. There were 2 registers, one was occupied by a worker hanging out talking to the cashier. for 10 minutes. I placed a take out order, was given a receipt & told to listen for my name. There was no place to wait for my order- I kept moving around since employees kept bumping into me. The place was crowded, but there seemed to be at least 20 employees there- many just standing around. My take out order was given to a girl with the softest voice possible (it's a loud noisy place). I only knew it was mine because I kept watch. Take out order took about 20 minutes, which to me, is a long time. (We ordered 2 poboys & fries). Once home, the meal was ok. A bit skimpy on the size of fries & cups of cole slaw were half filled (about 3 fork-fulls). The regular sized poboy was about the size of a whopper jr. I felt that the price ($17 for 2 poboys & 1 order of fries) was high for the small, skimpy portions received. The BBQ chicken was tasty though. And before anyone criticizes, I am 105lb female who is used to eating smaller portions. I was still hungry after this meal.

HORRIBLE Place to eat...Horrible Customer Service...Horrible Food...did I mention it was Horrible...was there on a Sat .Night with my family...not too crowed it was just us with 2 other people..(kinda strange for a Sat. night at 7pm) ...I ordered the smoked Monster wings {Don't know if Monster was supossed to mean Big or Scary..these were Neither}, my wife had the smoked chicken breast and my kids had the magic burgers...first off my monster chicken wings were not monster at all they were 10 little tiny wings that should be renamed baby wings...they were small cold and absolutely tasteless...my wife's smoked chicken breast were overcooked rubbery and mostly the ends of the pressed chicken and tasted horrible, even the BBQ sauce didn't help, actually made it worst since the sauce had a very weird taste to it..(Kinds Sour)..my kids burgers were small cold and smelled really strange kids would not eat them...I asked the girl at the register to speak to the manager..a young (looked like in high school) kid came out and said he was the manager...after I explained to him my displeasure with my family's meal he said that's the way our food is..and didn't offer any apology or new food..very rude and totally unprofessional. Do yourself a Huge Favor and Stay Away form this place at All cost.. too many better restaurant's around the corner like Five Guys and Giraffas..heck McDonald's is a much better and much more affordable place than this...(better BBQ sauce there too) lol...

This place is what it is. It's a dressed up fast food establishment that looks no different then a Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits. The food is ok put the portions are extremely small (4 Onion Rings in an order). I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

They catered our BBQ wedding reception and it was wonderful! The food was amazing (everyone kept talking about the beef brisket) and the service was perfect. The catering manager was professional and easy to work with. This place also happens to be our "go to" fast food joint when we don't want the usual. They also just expanded their menu to include red beans and rice and jambalaya. Coming from someone raised in the South, it is awesome!

I have a habit of Yelping a lot, it's a severe case of Yelp-itis. I tend to turn to Yelp when searching for NEW restaurants. I came across VooDoo BBQ & Grill about a month ago (I forgot where the place was located at- LOL). So one night we were in Pembroke Pines, trying to find a place to eat, we then came across VooDoo BBQ & Grill. This place is remarkably clean, filled with bright lights, and music playing in the background. I was looking over their menu, had a hard time deciding on what I should order... After 10 minutes just reading over the menu, I then decided on the Baby Back Ribs - 1/2 Rack with two sides (Sweet Potato Soufflé and French Fries) and an order of their Signature Pulled Pork 1/2 lbs with 2 sides (Coleslaw and Macaroni & Cheese). What's exciting about it as well, they give you garlic toast with every combo platter. The baby back ribs were delicious! It was the best of both worlds, sweet and a hint of spice! The meat fell off the bone just how I like it! The Signature Pulled Pork was tender but just a tad bit dry so I poured some sauce Mango crystal (spicy bbq sauce-which I am a huge FAN of). Overall my favorites sides were the: Sweet Potato Soufflé and the Coleslaw. has three sauce to choose from: Mojo sauce (New Orleans Style), Cane vinegar (Tangy) and Mango Crystal (Spicy). But I am glad they have a BBQ joint that's from Louisiana (that's where all the tasty BBQ comes from).

When I visit a "new" BBQ restaurant...the 1 item I always order is their "pulled pork"..but on Monday Feb 11 by 8pm...Voodoo BBQ had "run out" of pulled pork. 2nd strike...Both Yelp & Foursquare mentioned that after checking in at Voodoo..you receive a free dessert. When I brought up the "free dessert" offer to the counter person & subsequently, the manager..I was told that that offer expired. If I was alone..I would have left..but my wife & my sister were both with me..so we stayed. We ordered: brisket (good) ; onion rings (very salty but still good) ; baby back ribs (good) ; the soup sampler (chili-lobster bisque-gumbo) all tasty & the bread pudding (yes, I paid for it)..also fine. Honestly, I only tend to return to a restaurant when 1 or 2 items are exceptional...but because I never had the opportunity to try their pulled pork (which conceivably could be special)...I have no plans to return to Voodoo BBQ.

The staff was nice. Food was sub par. I had the brisket sandwich. It was ok, nothing special. A little pricey for the size of the meal. They had a lot of shrimp options available. I don't eat sea food but, others might enjoy it. Dining area is small. You will get to know your neighbors while eating. Fast food bar b que would best describe the place.
